Cheese of the Week: Rogue Creamery Smokey Blue

Playfully inspired by Smokey Bear, this American original is cold-smoked for many hours over Oregon hazelnut shells. This intriguing process infuses the cheese with unique aromas of barrel-aged vanilla, bread pudding, and candied bacon! You'll experience the wonderful tastes of spicy-sweet flavors of honey, apple, and nectarine, plus a mild "blue" finish.

This beauty of a smoked blue is cave aged for 90 days and has a beautiful blue veining throughout its creamy, buttery, crumbly self. The rich flavors can elevate even the simplest of foods, such as burgers and deviled eggs! Truly a unique addition to any cheese board, where it is best served with nut and brittle or preserved fruits.

What makes this unique blue cheese even better? It's certified organic, vegetarian-friendly, and gluten free!

In previous blog reviews I have touched based on Rogue Creamery's inspiring sustainability practices. This dairy strives to be aware of how they can lessen environmental impact during production. They are committed to leaving a positive impact on both people and our planet through organic practices, renewable energy, and more!

Personally, I've never been a big fan of blue cheese, but this Smokey Blue Cheese is absolutely delicious! Melted on top of a perfectly cooked steak with a bold red wine and you'll surely experience bliss.😊
