"Two Iconic Families Come Together"
In a June 24, 2021 press release, Delicato Family Wines announced that the company will be acquiring the portfolio of Francis Ford Coppola Winery as well as two facilities located in Sonoma County. This acquisition forms the 5th biggest supplier of wines over $11 in the United States and the 3rd biggest supplier of California wines.
Under this agreement, the Francis Ford Coppola Winery and the Virginia Dare Winery will join Delicato. The Inglenook and Domaine de Broglie Winery and vineyards are not included in the acquisition and will remain owned and operated by the Coppola family.
Francis Ford Coppola Winery, nicknamed a "wine wonderland" because of its many attractions within the main winery in Geyserville, CA, was purchased by the Coppola family in 2006 and opened in 2010. The winery become 100% sustainable in 2019, due to its efforts to increase efficiency, minimize environmental impacts, and nurture the local habitat for wildlife, staff, and winery guests. Francis Ford Coppola Winery has a diverse portfolio, ranging from the Sofia line of rosé to their iconic Diamond collection.

Delicato Family Wines was founded in 1924 Gaspare Indelicato, who planted the very first Delicato vineyard in Mantaca, California. Today, Delicato is one of the fastest growing wine companies in the country, with a portfolio including Bota Box--the fastest-growing brand in any wine segment--Three Finger Jack and Z. Alexander Brown.
The transaction is expected to be finalized within the next month. The financial terms of the deal have not been released.
