If you look through cookbooks from before the 1950's, you won't find any mention of dips, but there are some recipes that seem to channel them. However, there is no mention of chips, and nothing resembling the modern notion of combining the two for a savory snack food.

The chip originated in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1853, when a disgruntled customer kept sending back an order of french fries, complaining they were too thick. George Crum, the cook, prepared a new batch using potatoes that were sliced paper thin and fried to a

crisp. To his surprise, the customer actually loved it!

Lays Chips began in 1932 as well as Fritos, eventually chips were everywhere! But what about their dancing partner, the dip? The mass production and marketing that made Frito and Lays successes were also at work in other food industries. By 1952, Lipton had pushed its instant soup business to the limit! The company needed new and creative ideas, so they launched their dry soup mixes to be combined with sour cream. The cool, tangy dip with crisp and salty chips was too perfect to be overlooked!

Do you prefer an ooey gooey cheesey queso dip? Or are you more of a cool and creamy dip style? Why choose! Get creative with your combos and bring together friends and family for a delicious tasting!

Through Roth Cheese's website I discovered a variety of AMAZING recipes, truly jaw dropping how many tasty ideas I got just from browsing their recipe page.

By far one of my favorite dip recipes they posted is the Simple Creamy Corn Dip Recipe - Roth Cheese. This smooth yet chunky and delicious dip comes together in just minutes with minimal work, hence why it's my favorite!
